Once again Norton gets a 5 star rating from me. It installed cleanly over my older version, and runs quietly in the background. It prompts me to take some action from time to time. No attacks appear to have taken place.
I have been using Norton Internet Security since 2005, and I have never been disappointed. I recommend it to anyone who wants an easy to use security software.
If something goes wrong, the program is very good at correcting itself without bothering you much. If you need more help, like with a reinstall, you can get “chat” help (better than phone help) that can take over your machine and do what they need to do to get you back running. After reading the reviews I decided to purchase Norton and give it another go – the program has really sped up my computer – works great! Also – the price here on Amazon is unbeatable. I can be reading on the Internet, or even be off-line, and all of a sudden a distracting Norton dialog box will pop up to inform me that Norton is performing system scans in the background. The only problem is that these scans take up so much memory that my browser or open program will lock up and crash, so I usually have to reboot, and by then, I lost my train of thought on what I was doing on the computer to begin with, and I find it very annoying! Amazon used to be my second shopping choice. Now Amazon is the first place I look for products on my shopping list! In addition, the tech gave me a 30-day extension on my current license year ‘just because’.
Amazon shipped it quickly with no hassle. I brought this for my laptop and desktop, it does weekly scanning, to see if my computer or laptop has any virus. I really like the storage and automatic entry of log on info for various sites. It is always better to buy a new program than to renew however. Let me start by saying that I have been using Norton products since their initial inception. Over the years I have tried using, on a test basis, most every internet security program available. I ran some free antivirus and firewall products on a few other computers at home, and Norton performed so much better in comparison. I can’t say enough good things. It’s been so long since I got it so I don’t remember anything about the vendor, but the product is great. I have been using Norton Internet Security since 2006. It works for 3 computers. I purchased this version to replace my last successful Amazon purchase of Norton 2010, and Norton renewed my subscription on both my laptops without me initiating.
To update via Norton runs 20 dollars or so more and is done by download. Buying this CD from Amazon gives you the CD in hand, always a nice thing to have.
